A Bit Of History
The short version of this story is that in his early 20s, as a young sociology graduate, Bill met a man named Ben who claimed he was psychic. A relentless (and life long!) skeptic with training in statistics, Bill convinced Ben to let him set up some experiments to essentially try and prove Ben was not what he claimed to be. And Bill couldn't prove him wrong.
As Bill continued to observe, Ben’s psychometry abilities morphed into an ability to heal - he would hold an object belonging to someone, feel symptoms and then the symptoms in that person would disappear. The clincher for Bill, was when Ben - with no heads up - felt Bill's serious back pain (he'd been forced to drop a swimming scholarship to college because of it) in his own body and cured it, for the rest of Bill's life.
By this stage, Ben had been running a regular healing group for a while, with Bill in very regular attendance. Another regular attendee was a Dave Krinsley, a friend of Bill’s, who was a well respected and connected geologist on the faculty of Queen’s College in NYC. Dave located a researcher at Queens who had been running experiments on mammary cancers in mice for 20 years.
The reason Bill and Dave chose this particular mice model to study Ben’s healing technique was that by this stage, there were 2,000 published peer reviewed studies on these mice. The model was predictable. They could introduce a single variable. i.e. Ben's healing method.
A number of strings were pulled, Bill got permission to run an experiment in a lab at Queens, with Ben as the main healer using essentially the image cycling technique to try and cure mice injected with mammary cancer. However, on the eve of the experiment, Bill was thrown a curve ball when Ben suddenly pulled out - already committed, Dave Krinsley and the biology department convinced Bill to be the healer. To Bill’s astonishment, not only did the healing work, and all the mice were cured, but they remained immune to future injections of the cancer and lived out the rest of their lives.
Roll on several decades and ten controlled animal experiments conducted at five university laboratories, Bill found that mice could be completely healed of cancer using a simple technique. In the process, a relentlessly curious and skeptical Bill Bengston continued to challenge people to rethink what is possible in medicine and healing.
The Core Technique
The core of the Bengston Method is a technique referred to as Image Cycling™. It is simple to learn, but requires effort and commitment to practice. People learn it for a variety of reasons. Some want to heal family members, friends or pets. Many learn the method to help support their own healing. However the Bengston Method does more than assist in healing, and many learn the method simply to create a life they want.
